Meeting with this peer support group is like my own form of self care.
Permanent Carer
Martha
Join us monthly for a supportive gathering of parents and carers. Hosted by PCA Families’ facilitators, this is a safe space to share your story, learn from the lived experiences of your peers in permanent care and adoption, and offer your insights to those on a similar path. These sessions are generally online and face to face from time-to-time to connect and grow together.
In addition PCA Families were granted funding from the Victorian Government, Department of Health (Child, and Maternal Health) to provide Dads peer support groups which are held on line and face to face in metropolitan Melbourne and Geelong. Dads play a significant and enduring role in the development and wellbeing of their children from infancy to adulthood. However, research indicates that new fathers can often feel overwhelmed and anxious by the challenges of parenthood. Dedicated groups for Dads will provide the opportunity to explore parental challenges, share experiences and build supportive networks and friendships.
Allways playgroup meets every month and is co-ordinated by volunteer parents and carers.
Meet up the first first Thursday of every month
10am - 12pm, 1330 Ferntree Gully Road, Scoresby
