Workshops for Children & Families

PCA Families offers a range of learning and development programs for permanent care and adoptive families. These programs are available within Melbourne and Regional Victoria, or online if preferred.

Workshops for children and young people are subject to demand and often include:

Workshops for parents and carers are also subject to demand and may include programs such as:

  • Parenting Plus – aimed at strengthening the family unit and preventing placement breakdown
  • Let’s Talk About School - Adoption and Permanent Care – supporting children to receive tailored educational support
  • Introducing Siblings Through Permanent Care and Adoption – exploring the adjustment of introducing a sibling to the family through permanent care and adoption
  • Parenting with Mindfulness – letting go of guilt and worries and focussing on being present and emotionally available while parenting
  • Life Story Work – using life story work as a therapeutic tool to support children to understand their birth story, their identity, to connect to their culture and to their family
  • Raising Teens – empowering and equipping families with parenting and communication skills to navigate the teenage years.
