This workshop is brought to you in conjuction with Carer KaFE for adoptive, kinship or permanent carers who may be caring for a child with FASD, or who would like to learn more about FASD. Workshop participants are expected to have:

  • attended the introductory workshop, or
  • watched the recording, or
  • attended other training or have equivalent knowledge – see recommended pre-reading.

This workshop will cover:

    • Understanding the child’s profile
    • Making sense of FASD and Trauma Strategies for home, school and community
    • Working with therapists
    • Managing risk and safety
    • Working with a care team

This session is the second part of a series of workshops with Prue Walker, a renowned expert in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), designed specifically for Permanent Care and Adoptive Families. Dive deep into understanding FASD, from its diagnosis and characteristics across the lifespan to effective strategies for support in home, school, and community settings. 

These workshops will equip you with the knowledge and skills to positively impact the lives of children and young people with FASD.
